Our team consists exclusively of licensed US Coast Guard captains who have been selected for their knowledge, hunting instincts, professionalism, and ability to create a memorable experience for every client.

With Jeremy guiding since 1994 and a reputation built as Montana’s largest waterfowl outfitter, River Rock Outfitters has earned its place as a leader in Bighorn River Waterfowl Hunting.

We believe hunting should be done the right way. That’s why we hunt exclusively over decoys and do not consider pass shooting or jump shooting to be true duck hunting. While limits can never be guaranteed, it’s common for our groups to finish successful hunts before 1:00 PM. We leave the river no later than 2:00 PM to allow birds to return to their roosts undisturbed.

One of the keys to successful Bighorn River duck hunting is adaptability. With more than 300 blinds spread across a variety of locations, we can adjust to changing conditions while minimizing pressure on the birds and the resource.

Our guides spend countless hours scouting to ensure every hunt is set up for success. From mallards working decoys at sunrise to late-season opportunities on migrating geese, every day on the river brings a new challenge and a new story.

The Bighorn Valley serves as a major migration corridor, with more than 300,000 Canada geese passing through the region each year. We love the challenge of calling these giant honkers into range and have maintained a goose limit success rate exceeding 90% over the past five seasons, including many prized Quill Lakes Canadas.
